Remembering Springtime

Spring has blossomed up here in Richmond, Virginia in a matter of days.  It's been so gorgeous!  Before we left on vacation, it was all brown.  Now, there are reds, purples, pinks, whites, oranges, and GREEN everywhere!  The temperatures have been amazing too - 70's to 80's every day.  I love it!  It really makes me think of all the springtimes when I was a little girl and we lived in Bountiful.  I remember playing in Omi and Buppi's yard when I was little and digging in the dirt.  One funny spring experience when I was about 5 years old was when Omi and Buppi got their lawn aerated.  I was so deathly scared of stepping on the aerated dirt because it looked like dog poop!  I am so excited for the day we have our own house so I can garden and have flowers, bushes, and trees all around.  Hope your spring is just as beautiful as ours!

A Very Thankful Tuesday!

I'm very grateful that our house didn't burn to the ground!

Perhaps I should start over. Ahem.

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you left the dryer running for 9 days? That's what I'm here to tell you. First of all, your clothes would be extremely soft. This is because most of the fibers from the clothes have been trapped in the lint trap! When you open your dryer, huge clumps of lint will come flying out. You may even have enough to start a bonfire! Second of all, some of your clothes may be torn to shreds. Thirdly, your electric bill will be scary.

Moral of the story: if your dryer hasn't been working properly, don't leave it on before you go for vacation!! ;)

Billions of Pictures

Be prepared for the billions and billions (ok, maybe not that many) of pictures!

My delicious 100 Grand birthday cake!

Matthew and Lindsey's wedding!  Her dress was GORGEOUS.

Hurricane Irene's damage

This is our church on the left hand side

Making homemade scones, Conference Weekend

My Halloween craftiness - this is puff paint that you use on fabric!  Super duper easy.

This wreath was super simple too.  I made the fabric flowers (you can find tutorials anywhere on the internet) and hot-glued them to a vine wreath.  Took about 10 minutes.

Love my hair-stylist!  I was asking her how to do a faux-hawk and she did it for me :)

Huge spider web in our kitchen window...and HUGE HUGE HUGE spider outside our front door!

Our Apartment Complex

Fun park across the street from us.  It has little fitness stations!

It's kindof hard to tell from these pictures, but this is the crazy rain we got from Hurricane Irene.  Pounding on the windows!

Again, hard to tell from the pictures, but there are some big and deep puddles outside our back door from the amount of rain we got.

Damage in our neighborhood - thankfully, none of it near us.

They didn't cover the pool up during the hurricane, and it's almost overflowing!

This was the worst damage in our neighborhood - this is the huge branch that broke off and snapped loudly in the middle of the night.
